Acts 7:30  (NIV)

[30]”After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.

Exodus 3:2-4 (NIV)

[2] There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. [3] So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”

 [4] When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!”
      And Moses said, “Here I am.”

===========================================================

 As we look at Acts 7:30, we see that it took 40 years for Moses to be ready for the assignment God had planned for him.  During that time, God had been molding Moses into the person that he needed to become.  When the time had come, we see in Exodus 3:2-4 that God appeared to Moses in the form of a burning bush that was not consumed by the flames to get his attention.  When Moses heard his name being called, he responded with “Here I am”.

 Are you getting impatient because things don’t seem to be working out the way you thought they would?  Maybe they are not happening fast enough for you, even if it is what God has called you to do.  My friend, welcome to the club!  I think most people have felt the same way about something in their life, even the things that they know God has called them to do.

 I know it can be hard, I’ve been there and in some areas in my life I still am.  The only thing that I can cling to is my faith in God, He can do anything…even if it seems impossible to us.  If it took 40 years for Moses to be in a position of readiness for what God had planned for him to do, then why should any of us complain because it takes more than a week or a month or even a couple of years?  Do you really want God to give you everything too soon?  I don’t think so, it would only place you in a position to fail and become disheartened and give up.  God has everything planned perfectly so that when the time is right, You will succeed in His Strength and Guidance because you have been groomed and prepared by Almighty God.  God only wants what’s best for us and He wants to see us succeed and prosper while here on Earth.  The only thing is that you have to seek Him and be prepared to conform to His Timing, otherwise you will miss out on the greater plans that God has in store for you.  Remember, God sees it all, from start to finish, we only see what’s in front of our faces.  Why then should we tell God when we are ready, do we really know what lies ahead of us?

 I encourage you, take the time to meditate on these verses and what is written here.  See if it applies to an area of your life that you may be struggling with.  Don’t be in such a rush, God loves you and cares about you, He only wants you to succeed and be a living testimony of what He is capable of doing if we will only Be Still and Know He Is God.

 When the time comes and God calls you, say with a loud voice “Here I am”….then you will see amazing things happen.

May God Bless You and Speak To Your Heart.

To God Be The Glory!

Acts 2:21 (New International Version)

[21] And everyone who calls
      on the name of the Lord will be saved.

 =======================

When was the last time that you called on The Name of Jesus?  Can you remember when it was that you cried out to Jesus from the depths of your heart?

We all go through times in our lives when things are difficult and very painful.  I know this personally because I have been going through some very difficult times myself, some of them are close to my heart and very painful.

 As I sit here and listen to the music that Jesus plays through my hands, I can’t help but cry out to Him for help and comfort.  You see, The Lord has blessed me in many ways with this musical gift that He has given me.  I am very grateful that He has chosen me to deliver His message to all of you that listen, but also that He speaks to me as well when I play the music or listen to the recordings.

I know that things can get so bad that you feel as though there is no hope and no use in trying anymore.  You may even feel like the whole world is constantly waiting to pounce on you the minute you wake up each morning.

We try everything we know to get out of the situations that we are in, we try to fix the problems.  In most cases it’s very exhausting and when the dust settles from our efforts, we look back and see that nothing has changed.

For some one that doesn’t know Jesus as their personal Savior, I can see why they may feel like sitting in a dark corner and waiting for the world to end.  As for the Believer in Jesus, all you have to do is just STOP!  Stop what you are doing, find a quiet spot and just cry out to Jesus.  Unload everything that is pressing on your heart, lay down all the pain, worries, frustration, anger, regret and bitterness.  Give it all to Jesus and ask Him to take it from you.  Let Him know how you feel, don’t hold anything back.  Jesus knows already what is holding you down and hurting you, but He wants you to call out His Name and open your heart to Him…Surrender your life to Jesus with all the difficulties and hurts that you are experiencing.

We don’t have to be perfect to come to Jesus, He loves us unconditionally just as we are and wants us to live our lives trusting Him with every step that we take in life.  He came into this world because He knew we needed Him in order to experience life in abundance and not be weighed down by hurt, turmoil and sin.

So I encourage you today, if you feel that your life has just been described here in this devotional….it wasn’t by accident.  I have been searching for a new devotional for weeks and I couldn’t come up with anything.  Tonight, as I listened to the new music that Jesus gave to me a few weeks ago, I found myself crying out to Him with all of my troubles and hurts.  That’s when I received this devotional to bring to you.

Please, don’t be afraid or too proud to stop, sit and cry out to Jesus for help.  You will receive it because Jesus wants us to come to Him and open up to Him and His Love.  I know you will feel better and have a new outlook on life if you will just take the time to lay down your burdens at the feet of Jesus.

You can’t make things better by yourself, eventually you will see that.

I pray that Jesus will speak to you through this message and the music that He has given me to bring to you.  Jesus cares about you and I care about you.

May God Bless You and Guide Your Ways.

Deuteronomy 1:9-18

The Appointment of Leaders

 [9] At that time I said to you, “You are too heavy a burden for me to carry alone. [10] The LORD your God has increased your numbers so that today you are as many as the stars in the sky. [11] May the LORD, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised! [12] But how can I bear your problems and your burdens and your disputes all by myself? [13] Choose some wise, understanding and respected men from each of your tribes, and I will set them over you.”
 [14] You answered me, “What you propose to do is good.”

 [15] So I took the leading men of your tribes, wise and respected men, and appointed them to have authority over you—as commanders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens and as tribal officials. [16] And I charged your judges at that time: Hear the disputes between your brothers and judge fairly, whether the case is between brother Israelites or between one of them and an alien. [17] Do not show partiality in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be afraid of any man, for judgment belongs to God. Bring me any case too hard for you, and I will hear it. [18] And at that time I told you everything you were to do.
=========================================================================

We read here in this passage that Moses had concerns regarding his ability to maintain order amongst the Israelites.  God had increased their numbers so much that it was extremely difficult for Moses take care of everything that came before him.

This is something that can be applied today as well.  This lesson is geared more towards Pastors and Business owners, but can be applied to many other situations as well.

The world looks at people much differently than the way God looks at people.  The world is concerned with College Degrees and many years of experience as well as associations with esteemed organizations.  However, God looks at a person’s heart and what their motives are behind the things they do.  I’m sure we all remember the story of David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17 ).  God chose David to defeat the Giant Goliath rather than another that was more suited (through man’s eyes) for the task at hand.  David’s heart was right with God and David had strong faith in God which is what enabled him to accomplish the task that he was called to do (Defeat Goliath).

Pastors and Business owners, If you find yourself trying to take care of everything and not allowing another person to lighten the burden, you will inevitably fail and may cause pain to others rather than just yourself.

I have had the unfortunate opportunity to see first hand what happens to a church when the Pastor attempts to control everything and not allow the help of others (even those who may have been sent by God), just because the Pastor could not see what God had seen in those individuals.  The church was in complete disarray and began to lose the members of the congregation, The Holy Spirit was not allowed to move within the services any longer, and everything was just falling apart.

When the time comes to seek help from others, whether it’s management within a business or managing a ministry within a church, Lift it up in prayer and ask God to give you the ability to see what He sees in the people that He brings before you.  God may just send you a “David” and test you to see if your business or church deserves the blessings that He has in store for the one that recognizes him.

Philippians 3:7-8 (New International Version)

 [7] But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. [8] What is more, I
consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ

    Have you ever heard somebody ask the question: “If your house caught on fire and you only had enough time to grab one thing before running out the door…what would it be?”

    Well, as you probably already figured out by now…life can be pretty treacherous at times.  The sad part about it all is that there are plenty of people out there clutching onto every material thing and positions of social status they can possible acquire, but don’t even give Jesus or their relationship with Him a second thought.

    What the world has to offer can be alluring at times, but it’s nothing compared to Jesus and what He offers.  Don’t hold onto the things of this world because they are not going to last forever.  Instead, Hold onto Jesus because He is forever.

    Don’t be like the monkey that couldn’t leave behind the food he found inside the tree and as a result allowed himself to fall prey to his attacker.

Philippians 3:12-14

[12] Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

 [13] Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, [14] I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

=========================

How many of us have moments in our past that we would like to forget but can’t?  Are you surprised when you are reminded of something unpleasant from your past and it consumes your thoughts when you least expect it?…You shouldn’t be. Satan loves to beat us over the head with our past mistakes so that we feel miserable and unworthy of God’s love.

             Once we recognize the mistakes we made and ask Jesus to forgive us, that’s the end of it.  We are forgiven once we confess and ask for forgiveness, the wrongs are not remembered.  We need to learn to accept His forgiveness and let it go.  If we hold onto those past hurts and mistakes and don’t allow ourselves to receive His forgiveness, it will only be used against us by the enemy and hold us back from God’s Blessings.

             Like the verse above says:  “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, [14] I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. “

 Remember to keep moving forward and don’t look back, press on toward the goal and keep you eyes on Jesus, not your circumstances.

 God Bless you and May God Speak to your heart,

To God Be The Glory!

Hebrews 4:12-13 (New International Version)

 [12] For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. [13] Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

======================================================

As we read this verse we can see that not only is God’s Word true, but is also able to discern the thoughts and intentions in every person’s heart.

 Let me ask you…is it really worth it to live your life the way you see fit without regards to God’s Laws and Commands as it is written in His Word knowing that you will be held accountable for everything on the last day?

Of course there are individuals that don’t feel that they have to concern themselves with that truth because they believe it is a long way off.  We do not know how long we have on this Earth, Only God knows that.  Regardless of whether we are here for decades or days, God’s Word remains the same and we will all have to give an account for our actions, words, intentions and thoughts.

God has specific plans for each one of us that He already knew before we were born.  He designed each of us to accomplish something specific to further His Kingdom here on Earth before that last day.  The only reason most people miss out on the blessings from God is because they believe they know what’s best for themselves instead of surrendering to God and His plan for each of us.  It does require strong faith, endurance, courage, and patience to seek out God’s plan for us and listen to Him when He instructs us on what to do.

Do you have what it takes to discover how to live your life the way God intended and then take action on what He reveals to you?

If after thinking about this we still live our lives the way we want to rather than the way God wants us to live….Then the real question is:   Whom are you serving, God or man?

 Matthew 24:1-8 (New International Version)

Signs of the End of the Age

 [1] Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. [2] “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”  [3] As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

 [4] Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. [5] For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ, and will deceive many. [6] You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. [7] Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. [8] All these are the beginning of birth pains.

 Matthew 14:30 (New International Version)

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. [30] But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
——————————————————————————–

    I’m sure that the same as many others, you are probably wondering “what the heck is going on with the world lately?”,  “Why is everything crumbling at the seams?”.  There are constant earthquakes in Nevada and around the world that are only getting stronger and scientists can’t figure out why,  the oil refineries are shutting down due to workers going on strike and militant attacks,  the prices of gas and food are going through the roof, there are deadly tornadoes causing destruction in places that don’t normally have them, people are turning against each other and stealing gas and food, the economy is crumbling, and the list goes on.

    All of these things can be scary to think about and hear about on the evening news, but it must happen this way.  There are many distractions in this world that takes our focus off of our Father in Heaven, and when we allow that to happen it makes everything seem that much more unbearable.  I’m not saying it will be easy, Jesus didn’t say it would be easy either, but we have to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and trust Him with everything that is going on.

Just like Peter, we have to focus on Jesus, not the wind and waves…otherwise we will sink.

     That Day is getting closer, it’s pretty obvious when you compare it to what is written in God’s Word.  Just remember that God is always in control and absolutely nothing slips through His hands or passes by Him without His approval.  Don’t get tired of doing what is right just because the rest of the world is in chaos.  Also, don’t fix your eyes on what you can gain here on Earth, but rather fix your eyes Heavenward.

May God Bless You and Guide Your Steps.

To God Be The Glory!

 In His Love,

 Christopher

Proverbs 16:7 (New International Version)

[7] When a man’s ways are pleasing to the LORD,
       he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.
====================================================================

 This verse is pretty straight forward and to the point.  As long as you do what is pleasing to The Lord, then The Lord will take care of everything else.  Don’t worry about your co-workers, neighbors, or even strangers, their opinion of what you do and how you live your life will always fall to the ground.  Remember, God’s ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.  God is the One that we should be concerned with when it comes to our way of living.  When the time comes, we will all have to answer for the way in which we lived here on Earth.  All I know is that when the time does come to stand before God, I want to hear “Well done good and faithful servant”.

 Have you thought about what He would say when it’s your turn?

Revelation 22:18-19 (New International Version)

 {18} I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. {19} And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

=========================================================

 We have all been brought up within different denominations, I was raised in the Pentecostal faith…Mainly the “Assemblies of God”.  Throughout my years I have been exposed to different denominations and their beliefs and the one common issue amongst some of them is that they will interpret The Word of God in such a way that it supports what they are teaching.

 Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I believe that the Teachings within the Churches should support The Word of God, Not the other way around.  The Bible is Trustworthy to the end, it is Infallible, it is Truth, it is The Spoken Word of God.  Why do some feel that they have to “Improve” God’s Word by making it fit their belief system?  Is not The Word of The Father of All Creation good enough?  Is anyone of us in a position to question or improve The Father’s Spoken Word?

 If you have a question, a problem, an issue, a situation, or just an uneasy feeling about something, then pray that The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit will open your spiritual eyes the next time read His Word…You will find the answer.  God may not tell us everything all at once, but when His time is right He will make it obvious to you so that you can’t miss it.

 I encourage you today, Let God Be God and trust that He knows what He is saying and doing…in the Bible and in your life.

 Remember, We did NOT create God, He Created us!

 May God Bless You and Guide You Always,

 To God Be The Glory!

In His Love,
